Hey guys is there away to use heatfinder server manager to open the server exe? like can the software be edited?
problem being as we are trying to change the entry password to the inspire server listed on heatfinder for nz stockcars. it's running the heat connector software. we only have ftp access to server so we are Stopping the server changing the join password in the options.cfg file via ftp and pressing start in Web manager and it won't start back up. this is causing a problem as the server is at the isp headquarters and when leagues etc are running the office is unmanned. do any of you guys know of any software we can utilise to do this. baring in mind we don't have remote access. only ftp access

What exactly do you mean by "the server exe"?

What system is your host running on? Windows or Linux and which version of either?

Where is the options.cfg file located that you are editing?

Until I hear back from you about the above questions I can't get specific about your problem, however here is essentially what is being launched.

When you click "Start" from the Server Manager "NASCAR Heat.exe" is launched. Let's say it's a 64-bit server for this example...

C:\Program Files (x86)\Hasbro Interactive\NASCAR Heat\NASCAR Heat.exe -dedicated -noautoplay

...would be launched. Many would refer to this as the "Original Game", without the use of any mod and mod folder configuration files.

Now if you have a launch mod configured in the Server Manager here...

Server Listing Manager > Green "Manage" Button next to your server > Setup > Launch Mod

Then that mod would be launched instead.

In your specific case I see you currently have the mod configured as "stockcar" so when you click "Start" the following launch command is run.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Hasbro Interactive\NASCAR Heat\NASCAR Heat.exe -mod:stockcar -dedicated -noautoplay

That entirely depends on what your server is running. If it is running without a mod, then it should be in the NASCAR Heat folder and you'll also need to remove the "Launch Mod" to leave it blank.

If your server is running the "stockcar" mod then the options.cfg file should be in the stockcar folder and you would leave the "Launch Mod" as it is currently as "stockcar"

Also please note that the "Launch Mod" in the Green pages and the "Display Mod" on the Orange pages are different. The display mod is entirely for users to see on the Listing while the Launch Mod is for the actual folders/mods on your server used when launching the game.

here's where it is. basically when we stop the server to edit the options.cfg file and then click start it won't start. C:\Program Files (x86)\Hasbro Interactive\NASCAR Heat\NASCAR Heat.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Hasbro Interactive\NASCAR Heat\stockcar\options.cfg

In order to specifically address your issue, I would still need the answer to these questions...

What exactly do you mean by "the server exe"?

What system is your host running on? Windows or Linux and which version of either?

Ryan, on your ftp site. Do you have access to the Admin panel.. So you can actually see the heat server up and running? Or do you just use something like firezilla to connect to the ftp site. I mean can you actually see the heat server's little dos window? You should be able to start and stop your server also on your isp's site, with also being able to do it out at HeatFinder too.

Talk to Ratman, and find out if you have access for the above. I seriously think you might not have the correct access on your side to do half the things you would like to do mate...

Based on the information you've provided. It appears to be configured correctly.

The "Launch Mod" is correctly configured as "stockcar". (Assuming the stockcar folder contains the necessary mod files and an options.cfg file).

Is the server running on Windows or Linux?

If on Windows, is the Connector Software running as an Administrator?

If not, and if this is not an option due to your ISP, does the Windows User that is running the Connector Software have full permissions to the entire NASCAR Heat folder?

Is this a screenshot from the server?

What version of Windows is the server running?
Is the server 64 or 32 bit?

Is NASCAR Heat located in the correct folder based on the previous question?

on 32-bit OS C:\Program Files\Hasbro Interactive\NASCAR Heat
or on 64-bit OS C:\Program Files (x86)\Hasbro Interactive\NASCAR Heat

If not, then the Connector will not be able to start the server.

Was the connector installed also installed in the same correct NASCAR Heat folder?

The NHSWMConnector.exe file (Connector Program) should be in the same NASCAR Heat folder as the NASCAR Heat.exe file.

It should be there if the game is installed correctly, yes. But the connector launches via the NASCAR Heat.exe executable.
