originally i could never have patch's paint file's loaded because his would always make my game crash. For the past year the problem has moved onto Blackknight and breeze's paints making my game crash. I have no idea what the cause or how to fix it. I've just been leaving their paint files out.

on another note, for custom paints how do you need your name in the driver text to be labeled for the xfinitty series, i drive a chevy and the car tex is 905. i think i may have had it labeled wrong.

Has this all been on the same computer? Maybe your web browser is downloading it wrong and just using that same bad download over and over again.

Here is everything up until today for both Cup and National...

Knockin' on wood, I've been pretty lucky with other's paints lately. In the past I always had trouble with Breeze's and Duster's paints causing my game crashes. Just one of those random things I guess.

Knockin' on wood, I've been pretty lucky with other's paints lately. In the past I always had trouble with Breeze's and Duster's paints causing my game crashes. Just one of those random things I guess.

Are the two of you using old IE browsers?

i used to use firefox but switched to chrome to download everything for the past few years.

Glad i'm not the only one, It just gets frustrating because if i happen to not be able to practice beforehand which is most of the time i just do the race with no paints in fear that it will crash so i'm stuck with seeing red cars. Hopefully once i download duster's paint batch he put on here that will fix it.

I don't know if it helps but I've never had a paint problem in NHRL with anyone's paint files. Its' just with the G3 cup or nationwide mods for breeze and bk.

I think the problem with the G3 platinum mod is there are too many addon mods and the paints overwrite other paints for other G3 platinum mods. I have over 100 paints in my G3 folder.

There is no doubt about this.

When the "Classic Series " mod came out . I crashed every time it loaded up in the server until i removed all the .tga files from the main CotPlatinumG3 folder and put them in a separate folder to keep them from loading and slowing down the loading process cause the .car files in the Classic series have extremely large file sizes. Blaxman suggested this and it worked.I'm also very careful about letting a cartex file overwrite a file already in the main folder of the G3 mod by checking the size and date of the existing file.

It's true, this could simply be your computer being overwhelmed by texture files and car files.

For future races we're going to cut the models (car files) used and stick to just the regular race cars and pace cars only. Meaning no caution boards, rescue trucks, etc. This should help a bit. But I would suggest you do as Breeze suggested Don, this could be just enough to help your pc along.

Thanks for the idea Breeze.

Yeah, G3 can be a little bit of a data hog.. Plus with so many add on mod's it can be very confusing for folks.. For myself personally for offline fun, I turned all the add on mods into mini mod's and launch each series individually .

I've since now enjoy releasing mod's as stand alone mods. I think I asked that same question here several months ago before the CWTS mod was released..

The concept of the Platinum mods isn't bad but it should have been just limited to the Sprint Cup & Nationwide/Xfinity cup mods. The Daytona Prototypes and Classic Series should have been their own standalone mods or a separate Platinum installation such as Platinum Road Course and Platinum Classic then they could have been expanded on themselves with more content.

And Donaldson what you can do is take the tex files and put them in the Carset folders and have mod launcher copy all the paints from the carset folder too the main platinum folder when you launch the game.

The idea at concept of the Plat. mod's was to help cut down on development time. And at the time it was developed it was something very "cutting edge" for Heat. For example it cut down development time, since you would not need to create brand new UI's each time you made a mod.. Creating UI's just alone takes about a month or more. But your idea would of been cool too.. Anyhow that's more or less Blaxman's baby.. Everyone has there own unique way of doing things. And what he has done for the Heat community over the years with all the awesome mod's he's released, is just mind blowing..
