It was a night of survival on this night in Atlanta. Line warp was a major issue throughout the race. Once again, Viagra6car started from the pole with a laptime of 38.412, and led the first lap. G ROCK, second in points entering the event, started 10th...then hit the wall at the beginning of lap 3 and lost the lead draft. He later got disconnected and finished tenth. The lead changed each of the first six laps among Viagra6car, Lepage71, Fat9fan, and Catch22. Other leaders on the night were Kyle4445, Bear328, Reef, Raminrdixin, and Efgordon. Line warp involved Raminrdixin, Efgordon, Kyle4445, Bear328, Reef, and Catch22 at the start of lap 9, with only Catch22 losing the draft. Line warp on lap 14 put Kyle4445 in the grass, which caused him to lose the draft. Another incident on lap 16, the biggest one of the night, involved Raminrdixin, Fat9fan, Lepage71, Efgordon, Reef, and Bear328. This left Viagra6car, Fat9fan, & Raminrdixin out in front by themselves (by 11 seconds). Catch22, Efgordon, & Kyle4445 got together in a draft, later catching up to Bear328...and catching the 3 up front fast. One thing that helped this pack was that Raminrdixin dropped out because of a pop-up ad. The 4 car draft caught up on lap 38, but on lap 39, more line warp took out the 6 car, who dropped to 8th, which is where he finished. On lap 47, Catch22 & Efgordon were in the final line warp crash, losing the lead draft. Coming to the white flag, Fat9fan caught the edge of the grass and lost a lot of ground, and then finishing 3rd. Kyle4445 led the final four laps and held off Bear328 at the end to win his first career win in only his second LCH league start. That makes 4 first time winners in 5 races this season. |
