It was a tough night as the LCH League hosted it's first race of season 2. As 13 cars entered the event, a Heat Race was run to fill the Feature with the 10 best cars. quikRunner made a last-lap move on Raminrdixin to take the win, barely crossing ahead of Pitbull4, who finished about 1/2 car lengths behind the #1 car. Viagra6car showed up late, which meant the Feature would now include 11 cars. Early on, it looked like the cars to beat were quikRunner, Catch22, and Cookie. On the 6th lap, Raminrdixin got in a incident and lost the lead draft. Efgordon tried to drop back and help Raminrdixin, but they couldn't chase down the leaders. Just a couple laps later, Viagra6Car had a similar problem and lost the lead draft as well. Around the middle of the race, Catch22 was unhappy with another racer about apparent blocking, and disconnected from the race because of his displeasure. The lead pack was trimmed to just 4 cars as Reef then lost the lead draft around lap 25. Towards the end of the race, quikRunner had a strong hold on the lead, protecting the inside line. The other competitors knew they had to move to the outside line to make the move to the lead. With just 2 laps to go, Cookie led the charge on the outside while getting plenty of support from behind. No one could then make a move on Cookie's #42 machine as he came across the line with his 5th career win in the League, followed by quikRunner, who was just over 1 car length behind; then Fat9fan, Pitbull4, and Reef rounding out the top 5. |
