Reef picked up his first pole of the season with his "best lap ever" at 20.266 seconds.  Outside him in 2nd was Lepage71, meaning the top 2 in points stole the front row.
Reef would lead the first 2 laps from the pole before being hung out on the outside and passed by Lepage71, Viagra6car, and Bear328.  The 71 and 6 would quickly move away from the field as Bear, Reef, and KTIN3 would battle for 3-5 spot.  Reef would eventually take 3rd and pull away with it.  Meanwhile G ROCK, LH8, and Dhib8 had a very close battle for 6-8 positions.  Dh began to pull away with the 6th position but suffered late wheel problems and drop to 8th place, losing important points.  KTIN3 worked his way around Bear328 around the midway point and was a full straightaway behind Reef for 3rd spot.  Over the next 20 or so laps he reeled Reef right in and had several looks to the inside to make the pass, but ran out of time at the end.
Meanwhile up front Lepage71 & Viagra6car were in a very tight battle for the win.  The driver of the 650 car, which was painted in gold for his 50th league start, was looking to end that 23 race winless streak.  The two cars ran within a second for the final 70 laps.  After the 71 had led 36 consecutive laps, Viagra6car finally got by for the lead and pulled away by about a second.  The 6 would lead 35 laps in a row, but the 71 was coming fast on the old worn out tires.  Also late in the race the laps cars were slowing the leaders just a bit to make it more interesting.  Viagra6car hit the curb into turn 1 of lap 74 and sliding up the track, giving the 71 a chance to make his move, and he cleared the 650 into turn 3.  V6 was in a similar situation as last season at Martinsville, in 2nd place just out of the lead--and he didn't want to have the same result.  Going into the final turn Viagra6car tried to get to the bumper of the 71 but came up just a couple feet short and would take 2nd place just 9 tenths from the win.  The win is 71's 3rd in 4 races and record 9th all-time.
