Viagra6car picked up his 10th career pole on Thursday night, his first pole since Sears Point about 2 months ago. Along side the 6 car was the 51 car of Reef. Viagra6car led lap 1 as everyone made it clear without any problems at lap 1 (no restarts needed). On lap 2, G ROCK took the lead, beating Lepage71 to the line by just a foot or so. Lead changes occured on each of the first 5 laps in fact, showing that this would most likely be a very competitive race all the way to the checkers. LH8, Efgordon, first-Feature Race rookie Dhib8, and Viagra6car somehow managed to lose the lead draft while they were basically all in a drafting line on lap 8. They stayed in line to try to regain that lead draft, but slowly lost more ground and never caught back up. A main reason for this was Dhib8 bouncing off Efgordon on lap 17 and into the wall, taking the pack size down to 3. That number was reduced down to 2 on lap 37, when Efgordon and Viagra6car just pulled away from LH8. Bear328, Lepage71, GR8-1, Reef, Pitbull4, and G ROCK all took turns leading over the next 35 laps, without there being any significant bumps or nudges in the case of someone losing the draft. That almost happened though on lap 53 coming off turn 2 when G ROCK, Reef, Pitbull4, and Lepage71 got in a major jam. The lead draft would remain at 6 cars still though. As they got into the final few laps of the race, Bear328 made his move to the front...on lap 57 tp be exact, with GR8-1 up to 2nd, Pitbull4 up to 3rd, Reef in 4th, G ROCK in 5th, and Lepage71 hanging in the back in 6th place. A couple close calls on rule violations occured when Bear328 basically was blocking GR8-1, but the 12 car found a way by Bear in turn 3 of lap 58 with help from Reef & Pitbull4. Bear would get back in line in 3rd, and regain 2nd spot in turn 1 of the final lap as Reef drifted up the track. Off the final turn, Bear had a run and took it to the apron under GR8-1, but didn't receive much help in the process, so couldn't quite get to the win. With his 2nd place finish, he has taken the points lead by just 6 points over 8th place finishing Efgordon. Reef had his best run in quite a while on his way to 3rd spot. Lepage71, G ROCK, and Pitbull4 would lose the draft in the final laps in a mad scramble for position, and would finish 4th, 5th, and 6th. Viagra6car got by Efgordon on the final lap to finish 7th. All 10 starters in the race finished, with first-Feature Race rookie Dhib8 taking 9th. LH8 was the final finisher in 10th, luckily without pop-up ad problems this week. Next week is an off week for the LCH series, as it is Thanksgiving. Six races remain on the schedule and it appears as though only 3 drivers have a chance at the championship still. |
