EFGORDON ROCKS THE ROCK Efgordon slipped passed KTIN3 on the last turn of the last lap to win this week's LCH race at the Rock. The win completes a string of 7 straight top 2 finishes for the Ef. There is certainly no quitting with the #7 Hooters team. "It aint over til it's over" claimed Efgordon after chipping just a handful of points off Lepage71's apparent lock on the 2004 championship. Points leader Lepage71 would finish 3rd without ever leading a lap but remains well out in front in points. KTIN3, who lead 13 of the 50 laps, was unhappy about the rule that would not allow any blocking or driving on the apron. The #398 car entered turn 4 on the last lap just high enough to let Efgodon slip by with help from the draft of Lepage71. The new rules seemed to promote a better ending than the usual apron driving that shows up on the drafting tracks. League officials are still questioning drivers about even more possible changes to the LCH. Dhib8 finished a strong 4th, after choosing the wrong lane to be in with 1 to go. The rookie Nmz490 rounds out the top 5. The #490 team, who finished 4th in the Heat race, drove a very inconsistant race, leading 9 laps and wrecking at least 2 cars. The hot shoe rookie was last seen at the LCH trailer trying to explain how he took out the two most experienced drivers in the field (Reef and Viagra). TommyW and Crkfngr finished 6th and 7th, just outside the draft. The two cars where shuffled out of the draft early in the race, but almost managed to catch the leaders with 4 laps to go, but got just a little out of sync with each other and never could make up that last 1 second difference. Viagra6car's 56k connection held up this week, but without any favorable results. The 6 car was bounced off the wall by a rookie who just couldn't resist 3 wide racin. Reef's cinderella season also took a major hit this week. The #511 car, who led 11 laps, was literally steamrolled by a 3 car draft with the 3rd car smashing the Reef into the outside wall, which ended yet another golden oportunity to cut into Lepage71's point lead. Reach up and pull those belts tight fellas, because the LCH series will surely put on a fantastic show this week at IRP. This spectacular little bullring should provide yet another perfect challenge for some of the finest legend car racers on the planet. |
