Competitors in race #13 of the season were led to the green flag by first-time polesitter G ROCK, with a surprising starting spot of Efgordon to his outside in 2nd position. A poor move was attempted by 8forwc into turn 1 on the 1st lap, trying to go from 9th to 3rd right on the start. This led to a big collision involving Efgordon, LH8, Pitbull4, and 8forwc. Efgordon likely got the worst of this, moving from 2nd to 7th after just 1lap. Into turn 2 on lap 2, LH8 didn't see Pitbull4 to the inside of him, pinched him down, and ended up in the wall. KTIN3 also had a tough time in the first few laps, after hitting the wall off turn 8 on the 2nd lap as well, moving from his 3rd starting spot back to 6th. Moving up though were GR8-1 from 10th to 5th after 2 laps, as well as Viagra6car moving from 8th to 3rd very quickly. A large collision into the beginning of the pit wall ended a battle between Viagra6car and 8forwc off turn 11 on lap 3, with Viagra6car being pushed into this wall at full speed, then being pulled into the auto pits. The 6 car would go a lap down from this and be out of it for a top finish. Out front, G ROCK & Reef were pulling away without much of a challenge. Back in the pack though, Cars #12, 7, 15, and 28 were involved in a great battle for several laps, eventually spreading out...and also with Pitbull into the sand in the 1st turn on lap 4. GR8-1 continued his amazing run through the field, going from his 10th starting spot to 3rd by lap 5. Efgordon and Bear328 each moved by 8forwc on lap 6 because of 8for entering the sand twice...which caused him to retire from his first Feature event. LH8 would have similar problems, when he went into the sand in turn 1 on lap 9, came back onto the track and slammed the wall. He had a significant amount of damage to his car and would retire from the event. From laps 10-15, Bear328, Efgordon, and KTIN3 got into another great battle for positions 5-7. Bear would end up taking 4th, while Efgordon would take 5th when KTIN3 nearly ended up in the sand in turn 10. Reef had a problem of his wheel coming loose on his desk on lap 18, slamming the wall in turn 9 and drifting all the way back to 7th position. Meanwhile, G ROCK ran away with it out front without a real challenger the entire race, winning by a record 21.5 seconds over GR8-1. The Rock moves up to 3rd from 5th this week in points because of leading every lap and winning @ the Glen. Entering November, Efgordon has a 26 point lead over Bear328 as the teams move to Reef's "hometown" track of Loudon, New Hampshire this Thursday. |
