It is with a heavy heart that I post this today. Most of you never knew that my mom was in a battle with cancer, if I remember correctly Grumpy was the only one I talked with about her struggle. I was on such a high after winning the cup race at Daytona last night that shortly after my world came crashing down around me. Shortly after the race I received a call that my mom was failing fast. We gathered as a family today to give our love and respect and expected to lose her but she's a fighter never giving up,they believe she'll make it thru the night but not tomorrow. I wish to dedicate my Daytona victory to the strongest,bravest woman I know my mother and to ask for prayers from all my friends in my family's darkest hours. BK, I can't tell you how sorry I feel about your lose. as you may know I am going through my own battle with cancer and although I think I'm winning it for now, I don't know of anyone who has ever won it completely. if you could send her name to me, I will surely light a candle and say a prayer for her next week at church. in the meantime, be strong, and I wish you and your family all the best. if she was a member of any sort of charity please let me know so I can contribute. all my thoughts and love, rich carrick Driver of the #2 Penske Racing Ford
