On August 10, the drivers of the Cup Series headed to Talladega for the 11th round of the 2018 season. As expected, the resulting electricity echoed across the community. Amid a frenzy of competitors, lepage71 took the checkered flag using smart strategy, leading eight of 54 laps and edging Rookiesrock by 0.1 seconds. En route to second-place, Rookiesrock led 37 laps of his own to put up a thrilling challenge for the title. In an impressive effort, BlackKnight took the final step on the podium, reaching the line 0.2 seconds behind lepage71. Not to be forgotten, Jes Rathbun and Redimuss were no slowpokes either, finishing fourth and fifth to round out the top-five. The victory, lepage71's third of the season, decreases his gap behind leader Speedyman11 in the standings to 14 points. In its next event, the Cup Series heads to North Carolina in what promises to be another shootout.
