Speedyman11 Shuts Door on lepage71 at Kentucky Ver2

On December 31, the Truck Series rolled into Kentucky Ver2 for the 11th event of the 1969 campaign. What unfolded was a compelling filled with twists and turns. Defeating a flurry of contestants, Speedyman11 drove to a well-deserved win with the aid of patient techniques, leading 72 of 78 laps and clipping lepage71 by 10.9 seconds. En route to finishing second, lepage71 led one lap of his own to fuel a serious battle for the trophy. In a fine effort, d3efan occupied the final step on the podium, crossing the finish 27.0 seconds behind Speedyman11. Not to be overlooked, Bandit and Jes Rathbun were no slouches either, locking down fourth and fifth to fill out the top-five. The victory, Speedyman11's fifth of the season, closes his gap behind leader lepage71 in the standings to 11 points. In its next event, the Truck Series heads to Phoenix in what promises to be another shootout.
