Is 4 the correct number of contenders? Is 3 races/types of tracks the right idea? Should it be more than one night for the title? Other thoughts?

Pretty good the way it is. Something for everyone. Maybe a short dirt oval thrown in-(Davenport since this is where the legends started?), but keep it at three, more than that and it goes a little long. The cream always rises to the top regardless, but at least I felt like I had a shot all night long because of the differences in configurations.

Pocono was actually a good race. I think the non-cookie cutter type of track it is helps because even if you are off pace like I was, it is still a deal where lap after lap, trying to hit your marks keeps it interesting, so I think that it's a good one for the final. Better in fact than Phoenix from my standpoint.

Symons was interesting. Having had zero laps there it was a challenge, yet it's not an overly technical road coarse like say Toronto or Long Beach or Mid-Ohio. It's more like, do I dare say it...a roval. A few laps in it was easy to remember corners and just had to focus on getting through the hairpin.

CNS-had a blast. Technical enough, (just like the real track), yet not to the point of frustration...other than the BLACK PAINT on my pretty white car...BANDIT For me, this track ranked up there with Montgomery and Waterford.

Maybe top three for title but no more than top 5 in this type of format, in my opinion-otherwise why bother? Meaning, if more than five, then it's an everyone gets a ribbon type of deal and you may as well not even do a playoff/cutoff and let everyone have a shot because the points will play out as they would anyway.

Thanks again for a hosting a very fun series! Lord willin' and the crick don't rise, I'll be back for the next round of these screamers.

Thanks for the long write up.

I've had the same thought about going beyond 4 being too many unless the field size grew down the road. Maybe there could be a "best of the rest" for the top performer outside the championship 4 on that night.

I learned plenty with this season and would call it a mostly experimental year. Next season will have things tightened on for policy and officiating...I won't have shaky decisions on the spot like what happened a few times this year.
