The HPS Vintage Modified's were at DuQuoin Speedway on Sunday evening. Straightaway speeds were very fast but the trick was to hold it in the turns without loosing it. Tires were also an issue this weekend and wore down quickly, causing much slower lap times half way thru a fuel run. puttzracer, again this weekend, managed to have the long run advantage and won the heat race through pit strategy. puttzracer, KartRacer63, BlackKnight, Breeze and Grumpy round out the top five.
With the field inverted for the feature, Speedyman11 started on the pole and had the car to beat after making critical changes to his car. Speedy started on the pole and basically went unchallenged, only giving up the lead during pit stops. KartRacer63 and puttzracer were in pursuit of Speedy until altercations with slower cars took them out of contention. Breeze had a strong run in the feature, finishing in the second position. The top 5 feature finishers were: Speedyman11, Breeze, puttzracer, BlackKnight and KartRacer63.
