KartRacer63 Wins the Dirtrax Test Event at KY Lake

The inaugural NHMA race, the Dirtrax Test Event at KY Lake, was a great success. Five drivers came to see who could master the dirt, racing a type of track and car that none of them were accustomed to. But in the end, each driver settled in and had a competitive race. Breeze lucked out and got the pole for the heat race by random draw, but he wasn't able to hold the lead for long. The pace picked up fast and KartRacer63 took the lead before the first lap was over. But the race was not over yet, BlackKnight remained steady and ran a mistake free race, taking the heat win after KartRacer63 and Breeze made multiple errors, and Grumpy rounded out the field in fourth. This would put BlackKnight on the pole for the feature, receiving the league's first pole award. The feature was much longer, but that didn't stop the drivers from getting down to business right from the drop of the green. On the start, BlackKnight got a horrible start, handing the lead to second place starter KartRacer63. This was bad news for the rest of the field, as he got out of traffic quickly and lead all 90 laps of the feature event. Each driver was on a different lap by the end of the race, but that didn't stop the battles for track position, which continued all the way up to the checkered flag. The final results showed KartRacer63 first, Breeze second, BlackKnight third, Grumpy fourth and Redimuss fifth.
