Last Friday night the NHMA Dirtrax Dirt Series finally hit the track for the 2016 season after months of anticipation, and it was a great night of racing. Drivers put in a lot of practice so they could bring as much speed as they could, resulting in a very competitive event! After a random draw to decide the starting order of the heat race, Redimuss drew the lowest number and started on the pole, with puttzracer to his outside. Once the green flag was displayed Speedyman11 darted around the front row and pulled away quickly, leaving the rest of the field to fight among themselves for second. Speedy maintained his advantage until the end, with KartRacer63 and puttzracer rounding out the top three. This would give Speedy the pole for the feature event. However, before the feature even began Speedyman11 was forced to forfeit due to a scheduling conflict, moving the rest of the field up a position and putting KartRacer63 on the pole with puttzracer on his outside. When the green flag flew for the start of the main event, Kart pulled away and would maintain the lead until the checkered, leading all 70 laps. The real race, however, was between Breeze and puttz, with Breeze beginning the race with a leg up. The race for second was seemingly conceeded to Breeze after puttzracer made an early mistake resulting in him landing on his roof, but he collected himself and ran Breeze down by the checkered flag, taking second away. The final result listed KartRacer63 first, puttzracer second, Breeze third, BlackKnight forth and Redimuss fifth. Thanks to everyone who came out to the first race of the 2016 Dirtrax Dirt Series!
