lepage71 Drives to Second Season Win at Atlanta

On July 27, the Cup Series thundered into Atlanta for the ninth leg of the 2018 season. All that happened was one of the league's most exciting races. Holding off a bevy of contestants, lepage71 drove to a well-deserved win with the aid of patient techniques, leading 52 of 86 laps and trumping Jes Rathbun by lap. En route to finishing second, Jes Rathbun led eight laps of his own to fuel a daring battle for the trophy. In a fine effort, Bandit sped to the third-place position, crossing the finish one lap behind lepage71. No slowpokes, BlackKnight and Grumpy were also significant factors, locking down fourth and fifth to fill out the top-five. The victory, lepage71's second of the season, closes his gap behind leader Speedyman11 in the standings to 14 points. In its next event, the Cup Series heads to Watkins Glen in what promises to be another shootout.
