SpeedyMan Laps Field on Way to Winning 11th Annual Terry Gibson Memorial
SpeedyMan Laps Field on Way to Winning 11th Annual Terry Gibson Memorial
Upset Victory at SUPRS Terry Gibson Memorial

January 9, 2019…SpeedyMan11 lapped the field to win the Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), 11th Annual Terry Gibson Memorial Wednesday at Sandusky Speedway. After a controversial finish Rob Warren was awarded second place over Keith Powell.

Doubt Is Over

Capitalizing on mistakes, charging hard, but showing patience, “SpeedyMan11” as he’s known in sim racing circles, left no doubt that there is no type of sim racing discipline that he can’t win in, including the mighty supermodifieds. He led 63 of the 100 laps, lapped the remainder of the field, and set the fastest lap of the race as well.

“It’s great to be on pace with you guys,” stated SpeedyMan. “It means a lot to come over here and race good with SUPRS.”

Even more impressive is the fact that he swept the two-night event and won the Fast 50 on Tuesday in just his third supermodified start. Clinton Cyr is the only SUPRS driver to win his first sooner, tasting victory in his second race.

Never one to get to riled up, the TMS Wolfpack driver put things into perspective saying, “Winning is nice but having good racing and having fun is more important.”
