On January the 26th, the NASCAR Heat Racing League hosted its second annual NHRL 24 @ Daytona. A field divided by race and class, that is, race car class (GT2 and GT3), took to the track in anticipation of replicating the success of last year's inaugural event. The results would not disappoint. Admist the backdrop of a sunny winter Florida day, lepage71 maneuvered a 911 GT2 Porsche to the overall victory, repeating his accomplishment from last year and topping several race records from 2018. However, despite leading the majority of the laps, and largely commanding the leaderboard, lepage was far from the only star of the event. Impressively, and fulfilling a pre-race lepage supposition, Bandit represented the GT3 class to near perfection, driving a 911 GT3 Porsche to the class victory and finishing second in the overall standings. In contrast to last year, the 2019 event featured several long green-flag fuel runs and pit stops, including the final 15 consecutive laps. In a GT2 BMW, Jes Rathbun overcame some opening struggles to finish third, with a one-lap deificit. Grumpy, in a 911 GT3 Porsche, was fourth overall and second in class this year. BlackKnight suffered mid-race engine troubles with his 911 GT3 Porsche but made enough laps to round out the top five.
