SUPRS Rookie Claims Vukovich III Classic

February 26, 2019 – Bakersfield, CA…While no stranger to victory lane in many forms of sim racing, SpeedyMan continues to impress in his rookie season of Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), competition, and is now the first rookie in SUPRS history to win the prestigious Billy Vukovich III Classic presented by Supermodified Scorecard to his stellar resume. 2014 winner, Rob Warren, was second followed by defending winner Keith Powell in third.

Happy for Longer Race

Since embarking on his supermodified sim racing career with SUPRS, Ohh has stated that he prefers a longer race to settle into a rhythm. Whereas most of the SUPRS races are not often more than 50 laps on tracks under 5/8 mile, he’s not often gotten his wish. With the Vukovich III Classic being 100, he found it much to his liking. “This is great,” he began. “Once I found out the race was 100 laps it was music to my ears. I finally got some time to get a run in on these cars, let the tires come in a bit, and really get a good long race, it was awesome. “

“I’ve got to thank SUPRS for all they do for supermodified drivers, 1st to Finish Race servers, and once again, SUPRS for hosting these events and having us HeatFinder and Mod Squad guys over to race, it’s always a pleasure.”

High Rollers Headed to Vegas

The SUPRS racers are beginning their trek back east as they leave California and head for Las Vegas, Nevada and The Bullring for the Jeff Russell Special. This race is run in honor of supermodified racer Jeff Russell who was critically injured in a crash at The Bullring in October of 2010.

Jeff continues to heal from Traumatic Brain Injury suffered in the crash, and SUPRS will use this race to help raise funds for his continued medical care.

Practice starts at 8:00pm and the stopwatch starts ticking at 8:30pm for Time Trials. The Fast Car Dash rolls off at 8:45pm with Heat Race action starting at 9:05.
