Powell Victorious in SUPRS First Visit to Berlin

October 15, 2019 – Marne, MI…Keith Powell, of Carrollton, OH can add his name to the record books as being the winner of the first Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), sanctioned race ever held at the famed Berlin Raceway after bagging the Wolverine 50 on October 15. Powell, driving the Icings on Top #55, led all 50 laps of the NASCAR Heat race and broke Rob Warren’s early season win streak at two. Warren, crossed the line in second, and was in contention to win for most of the race, but was hounded by Bob Gangwer who ended up in third.

Earlier in the night, Gangwer turned a lap of 15.245 seconds to become the first SUPRS Track Record Holder at Berlin. Powell won the Fast Car Dash, and Bandit claimed his first SUPRS win after a finishing first in a wild Heat Race.

Warren maintains a scant seven point lead in the SUPRS Gold Crest Wing Supermodified Championship as the series moves south next week for the three-night 16th Annual North Carolina Swing which features five different tracks utilizing both NASCAR Heat and rFactor.
