On February 7, the Truck Series thundered into Daytona for the fifth leg of the 2020 campaign. What unfolded was a compelling filled with twists and turns. Defeating a flurry of contestants, Rookiesrock drove to a well-deserved win with the aid of patient techniques, leading 18 of 55 laps and trumping Bandit by 0.1 seconds. En route to finishing second, Bandit led two laps of his own to fuel a daring battle for the trophy. In a fine effort, lepage71 sped to the third-place position, crossing the finish 0.1 seconds behind Rookiesrock. No slowpokes, Speedyman11 and BlackKnight were also significant factors, locking down fourth and fifth to fill out the top-five. The victory, Rookiesrock's second of the season, closes his gap behind leader Speedyman11 in the standings to 15 points. In its next event, the Truck Series heads to Las Vegas in what promises to be another shootout.
