On May 22, the Cup Series traveled to Charlotte for the fifth meeting of the 2020 campaign. As expected, the level of entertainment set a whole new standard. Overcoming a party of pursuers, Speedyman11 drove to a convincing win through a speedy machine, leading 27 of 92 laps and edging Rookiesrock by 0.2 seconds. En route to second-place, Rookiesrock led 23 laps of his own to harbor a serious competition for the hardware. In a fine bid, lepage71 claimed the third finishing position, coming to the finish 0.2 seconds behind Speedyman11. Not to be overlooked, CR49 and Bandit were no slouches either, registering fourth and fifth to wrap up the top-five. The victory, Speedyman11's fifth of the season, boosts his cushion over Rookiesrock in the standings to 29 points. In its next event, the Cup Series heads to North Carolina in what promises to be another shootout.
