Fordly and I were talking tonight trying to figure out what is legal or not legal in the busstop section of the course, specifically the exit. We've found it's very difficult to keep at least two or even all four wheels on the pavement through the exit. How much of the grass are you allowed to drive through? Can two wheels be on the grass and still be legal? What about all 4? And how does this work under the definition of rule VI.B.3 "Driving through off track areas on road course tracks to gain an advantage over other drivers is prohibited."

We're discussing it to ensure everyone's on the same page and will post the clarification as soon as we can.

Thanks for bringing it up.

We went back to the first event we ran at the track (actually the very first ARL Sports Car race).

You may cut through the grass in the bus stop without penalty, though the VIII.D.5. Reckless Re-Entry rule will apply if there is any contact by someone coming off the grass.

Also important to note, should you skip the bus stop and drive straight through on the oval part of the track you will be penalized 1 lap. You can avoid the 1 lap penalty by coming to a full stop on the back stretch oval portion before continuing on with the race.

Also Qualifying will take place on the oval, you may continue through the oval straight (skipping the bus stop). This is during qualifying only.

Attached is the replay from season 1 at the same track, note that there were no penalty violations during this event.
