Donaldson asked a good question and I wanted to post our response publicly...
Here are the two generally related road course rules... VI.B.3. Driving through off track areas on road course tracks to gain an advantage over other drivers is prohibited. VI.B.6. Recklessly re-entering the racing surface from an apron or off track area affecting the performance of other drivers is prohibited. Note that we define "driving through off-track areas" as all four tires off the normal racing surface. Also note that you must have gained an advantage to receive such a penalty. 3rd note that we define "normal racing surface" as the opposite of "off-track areas" which is defined as aprons, grass, dirt, etc that is not normally part of the "normal racing surface". This has been our interpretation of our rules and out policy since our inception, even before we further defined the policy through the new rule (VI.B.3) which was added awhile back. |
