In relation to the 2017 Cup & National Series... What do you guys think about holding qualifying on Friday, Thursday or Wednesday night prior to the Saturday night races? << Edited on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 1:53pm EST. >> |

The only problem I'd have with that is what if someone can make the race, but not qualifying. I'd hate to have someone have to start in the rear just because they weren't available for qualifying on a different night. Driver of the #46 TMS Wolfpack Chevrolet

the downside would be exactly what putzracer said. it could also go the other way as well, a driver makes qualifying but misses the race. if he had made the pole, he would still get the point. the upside would be race night would get done earlier in the night, and a driver would have more time to make adjustments to his setup and race plan. I would assume the wear factors would be posted by then as well. I think this is why nascar does it this way. Driver of the #2 Penske Racing Ford
