Effective this weekend, the following Segment Procedure Changes will be in effect for both the Patch Cup and T-Bone National Series events! The ARL Rulebook has been updated to version 2017 Revision G to reflect these changes... The National Series will feature two segments, with segment 1 ended at approximately 40% of the race and segment two the remaining 60%. The Cup Series will feature three segments, segment 1 will be around the 25% point, segment two at approximately 55% mark and the remaining 45% will be segment three. Segments will be announced on the forum at least a week prior to the event, much like the wear factors. The time between segments will be run as normal cautions and the pit requirement has been removed. Bonus points for the top 3 drivers at the end of segment 1 will remain, bonus points will also be handed out for the top 3 drivers at the end of segment 2. Lap down cars will be granted a free pass before pit road is opened at the end of a segment and immediately prior to the formation lap for the restart. (A total of two laps). If all lead lap cars pit during the segment caution, these drivers will be permitted to drive around before the formation and this lap would not count towards their second free pass (a potential for 3 laps back). Positions will be determined as they would during a normal caution and would not be reordered based on the segment completion. This includes drivers racing off pit road. The time between segments will be run as a normal caution condition and exist under those same rules. The small exception is the two free pass's issued to all lap down cars at the beginning and end of the caution between segments. |
