We have updated the league rulebook to version 2018 Revision A and it goes into effect immediately for this weekend's races.

Unfortunately time is sparse among some of the League Officials, including myself, and some of these changes are needed to speed up the review process but we also focused on removing some nit-picky rules and allow more open competition.

A quick summary of changes in this revision...

1) Removal of all "Rear Grid Start" penalties to lessen the week-to-week effect of event reviews not being completed within a week of the event occurring.

2) Elimination of the "pits automatically close 2 laps prior to a segment caution" rule. Pits will now close when the yellow flag is thrown by a league official as occurs under a standard caution.

3) Elimination of the "pits are only open during the first pass after a segment caution" rule. You can now pit under a segment caution during any pass after they are first opened unless league officials have closed them for an abnormal reason.

4) We have altered rule IV.E and IV.F in relation to Reckless & Dangerous driving and implemented a Tier 1 and Tier 2 penalty system. As part of this we have increased the standard penalty for a Tier 1 violation but also increased the threshold to receive it. We will no longer be penalizing every small little bump or light damage.

Please keep in mind this does not mean you can go around putting half the field into the wall - If you go too far, you will still be penalized.

Hope you can all make the Truck Series kickoff on Friday night and Patch Cup Series qualifying on Saturday night!

To clarify some confusion last night, at the end of a segment caution just before we re-start it is necessary to close the pits to all drivers (as we previously did until the end of 2017 when we restricted drivers to pitting during just the first pass). This is to ensure we can allow lap down drivers to receive their laps back properly and line the grid up.

Also, if there happen to be no drivers a lap down at this point, the pits are not closed.
