Just an idea that I wish real nascar would use. Whoever the point leader is at the end of the regular season should get some type of bonus, I'd vote for giving that person at least a 3 point bonus heading into the chase for winning the "regular" season. |

I think the awards such as the (Stick it out award and Headache Award) should be valued less as far as bonus points go. leading a lap, pole, leading the most laps, hard charger i can understand having a 5 point bonus because your actually earning something by driving "good". For just finishing on the lead lap or losing the most spots i think only like a 1 or 2 bonus should be offered. Just seems like these 2 awards are awarding people for doing nothing basically. Just my opinion. |

I can only assume your referring to the 2012-13 National Series not the 2013 Cup Series Season which this thread is about... |

For both and all series really. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks this but just wanted to bring it up. It just never really made much sense to me why those 2 awards are awarded the same amount of points as the other awards are when your not really doing anything to earn it. i remember one race during lchrl last season where i got damaged and was battling for like 4th or 5th and i realized why am i racing this person so hard? it doesn't matter if they pass me or not as we both will end up with the same points anyway. If they pass me I'll get the stick it out and if they don't pass me they will get the stick it out and we both will end up the same regardless. And like there's other scenarios that came up where someone who finished 2nd but didn't lead any laps or anything got the same amount of points as someone who finished like 5th because they did lead a lap and got the headache and stick it out...i don't know, like i said maybe I'm the only one who thinks this way but those 2 awards don't make much sense as far as value goes compared to the other awards..i just think they should have a smaller bonus awarded compared to the others. << Edited on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 10:12am EST. >> |

The original intention of the "Stick It Out" Award bonus was to encourage the last place driver to continue racing and complete the event as opposed to taking a DNF and leaving. The original intention of the "Headache" Award was simply bad luck to make the person with the bad luck feel a bit better about themselves. lol I definitely understand your side and I know many others would agree with you |
