Although there does not seem to be any discussion about it, should a new PlatinumGP or IndyCar mod be released mid-season with new models to match the real new IndyCar series, should we make the change to it?

This is simply general theoretical discussion.

Yes, I think it might encourage more ppl to join. But it doesn't look like there will be one soon, I've only seen beginning models in rfactor for it.

Since the current mod is relatively new (right?), I say no (even though I voted lets wait and see). Finally a good indycar mod comes out and I'd like to enjoy it to its fullest. It almost would be a waste to scrap it.

Now, if a league is using an OLD mod for a LONG time (like the way NR2003 leagues were using the old busch series mod) and finally an updated mod was released (like the SRD Nationwide 2011 mod), I would be the first one pushing for a change.

But the new indycars are very new (1 race ran as of today), and this league doesn't follow the exact schedule anyway, so I don't see a reason to change.

Like I said, the only time I think a mod should be switched mid-season for any league is if the league has been running that mod for a long time and is tired of it.

Also, when I think indycar, my mind is filled with memories of the old car. To me, that is still indycar. The new car hasn't sunk in yet.

The mod was released in 2009 although because the actual car hasn't changed they have made new carsets for 2010 and 2011.

One of the biggest reasons we don't run more of the tracks from the schedule is because they don't exist for Heat. I would love to run St. Petersburg and Baltimore as they are both great tracks but we don't have them in Heat. Plus this is strictly theoretical as there may not even be a new mod released.

I talked to blaxman about it, he's waiting to have one released (I've seen a preview on rfactor) then he'll get permission to convert. We'll see from there.
