Once I figured out everyone was flat through the turns and I wasn't losing a second a lap, it turned into a very fun race.

My thoughts...everyone knows by now that I'm a short track type of racer, so the draft stuff is out of my wheelhouse.

However, tracks like Iowa, Richmond, Memphis or maybe even PIR, (not sorry-I will never call it ISM,or agree with the NASCARization, reconfiguring of the real track-no offense to Speedy and the new Heat track-maybe I'm way too old skool I guess), seem to suit these cars OK and losing the draft isn't the death knell like it is at tracks over a mile. Plus, it's always cool to mix the schedule up, because unless you're Speedy and could win going backwards on an ice rink, every driver has tracks that suit his style better than others.

Really like the fixed setups and 1x wear. Short race lengths are great too. Race officiating was top-notch, rules easy to understand, (although I still forget when segments are), and well run show.

Looking forward to Montgomery!

Thanks for the comments Bobby. It seems like maybe you need a draft partner in the draft race to get your experience up a little stronger. I'll work with you. Also I'm still in the learning segment of being the director once again, so things will become better promoted about stages, restarts, etc. Thanks for giving me a positive review the other night.

Lepage...that's the purpose haha. It's not to promote single file racing start to finish. Knowing that you can't block until the very end lets you know that you'd rather not sit at the front probably. That's not your fault but I could guess the strategy behind you haha. Things will get more wild and wide open on the next draft race I bet.

Wish I could have made the race, looks like it was fun.

It was a solid start to the season but I know it can get a little better.

Those Jeff Gluck twitter polls after each race seemed useful so I won't claim I created the idea. But drivers are likely to see the poll days after when they have a real developed opinion about it.

Note for myself: Fix the gears because we ended up running 4th in the race.
