I'm finally watching availability on purchasing a PC.

Known: 16 GB RAM, gaming PC, not buying any well-known brand name computers since they are actually worse.
Told: Watch for GeForce 30 series graphics cards or(?) Ryzen 5000 Processors. Both of these are scarce items but the salesman seemed certain that they'd be available and deeply discounted late this month if you can track them down fast enough.

GeForce 30 Series
Ryzen 5000

Anything else I should be watching for? Are all these computers easily upgradeable as they age? Inputs/outputs I should watch for carefully? Limited availability to certain monitors from them? I expect to spend nearly $2k on the PC and monitor.

Unless you are at a tech shop (something like Micro Center), Best Buy most definitely does not count. I wouldn't necessarily trust a salesman.

If you think you can, you are much better off building your own gaming pc as Grumpy recently did. Much more bang for your buck and overall a better experience with better equipment in the end.

There are a ton of guides and videos if your unsure, it's actually relatively simple to do though.

This one really goes all out, and a bit over the top, but is still good. Effectively turning a 10 minute build into a 40 minute video.

I need to get a monitor at some point now (still hooked up to an old Sony TV). I confirmed my GeForce 3070 and Intel i7-10700. Looking for some hot tips on getting a solid monitor for gaming but not the most premium item...like the best choice right before the parabolic rise in price with little gained.

I don't think we're looking for a curved display. It's going to be wall-mounted and I anticipate a second monitor down the road for very basic usage, so it'll have to cooperate with that.

Direct me for brand/size/refresh rate/response time.

Also, I opened Heat and it seems to work fine...so I might pick up my racing frequency soon.
