Crash Dover 110 Victory Goes To Donaldson

Donaldson captured the Crash Dover 110 victory Saturday night holding off Speedyman11 but the excitement began in qualifying. Since the beginning of the year and the new ten minute group qualifying sessions began.. pole laps have been run in the first five minutes. But during Saturday nights' session the pole changed hands three times in the final two minutes. First DusterLag ran a 22.443 then with about a minute remaining Donaldson ran a 22.411 second lap finally in the final few seconds Redimuss edged Don out with a record 22.410 second lap. This was Red's third career pole award and first since 2013. Many other drivers' fastest laps were also run in the closing minutes of the session.

Once the race began Donaldson quickly took the lead in his #5 Helix Chevrolet beginning a race long battle with Speedyman11. Donaldson led the most laps (58 of the 110) and captured the victory by just three seconds over Speedy. Speedy missed qualifying and started the race eleventh, working his way up to second while earning the Fastest Lap and Hard Charger Awards. ltfireman1604 finished third followed by Fordly56, puttzracer and BillyGood all one lap down rounding out the top six.

After starting on the pole Redimuss struggled throughout the race and finished seventh in his #76 Chevrolet after receiving the race's Headache Award. DusterLag, who started third, led twenty laps early but was involved in two separate incidents with ltfireman1604 that ended with Duster in the wall. After the race Duster had this to say... "We had a top three car easy, then Lt drove us straight into the wall twice. I don't know what he though he was doing - other than driving like a maniac on the apron. [Fordly56] took our front end off driving all over the track blocking us earlier, it was rough night for the all the NH Autosport teams." ltfireman1604 denied any wrong doing after the race. Duster's team mates BlackKnight, Grumpy and KartRacer63 finished 9th, 11th and 12th coming off KartRacer63's win last week at Charlotte.

Nine races down and Speedyman11 continues to holds the driver championship lead. Speedy increases his lead from twenty-five to thirty-three points over ltfireman1604 and DusterLag. KartRacer63 and Fordly56 move into fourth (tied). After missing another event GTSVip9 drops from fourth to tenth. Thirteen races remain before the first championship reset. Donaldson sits tied for twelfth on the border of the reset cut-off. After their terrible finishes at Dover - NH Autosport drops to second in the team championship standings as TMS Wolfpack moves into a twelve point lead. Chevrolet captured their eighth win of the season and continues their dominance, they lead the manufacturer championship over Ford with just one win.
