Speedyman11 Wins... Wait, No, Fordly56 Captures KTIN3 Wilkesboro Classic 80 Victory!

Fordly56 captured his second career victory Saturday night driving the #2 Penske Racing Ford during the Cup Series' second visit to North Wilkesboro and the KTIN3 Wilkesboro Classic 80. Fordly had led several laps during the first half of the race but was second throughout the second half until DusterLag was taken out in a lag accident while leading in the closing laps and Fordly re-captured the lead.

Fordly56 post race... "Well I guess I'm supposed to say it was a great race, but it really was! We had to survive a couple of different wrecks we came upon late in the race and after getting banged around some each time I thought it was over for us. But the Penske Racing Ford kept chugging along and we clocked some of our best laps afterwards. For the most part it was a very clean smooth race although I felt bad for a couple of guys who were having equipment problems. They ran very clean races and were quick to give way to faster cars and I thank them for that. I was glad to see my teammate had a good third place run, a one two would have been nice but Duster had a very strong run and did great even after the wreck he was in." Fordly's first victory came at the Fall Bristol race in 2014 where he passed and held back Patch who had dominated the race earlier.

DusterLag finished second after a lag incident that took him out of the lead in the closing laps. Overall it was a good run and finish for NH Autosport who has been struggling with all of their cars over the last few weeks. Duster picked up the Hard Charger and Most Laps Led awards. BillyGood had a great run, leading laps and battling for the lead throughout the race ultimately finishing third in the #22 Team Penske entry. puttzracer led the field for TMS Wolfpack, finishing fourth. KartRacer63 finished fifth and took home the fastest lap award after struggling with lag throughout the event.

Speedyman11 captured the pole award in dominating fashion as usual during open qualifying but suffered a disconnect after just eight laps leaving him in tenth and carrying home the Headache award.

Things aren't over for Speedyman11 who continues to lead the driver championship comfortably over DusterLag by thirty-six points. Just ten races remain before the first championship reset. TMS Wolfpack leads the team championship by eighteen points over NH Autosport who cut the lead from twenty-three points last week. Ford took home their second victory of 2015 but Chevrolet continues their dominance with ten victories and they continue to lead the manufacturer championship.
