Volusia: KartRacer63 Takes Heat, Donaldson Wins Feature, Speedyman11 Captures Championship

LCHRL drivers gathered at Volusia Speedway Park Friday night for the championship season finale. KartRacer63 began the night with a dominating performance in the Heat race, leading 23 of 25 laps. "The number three coupe was quick last night, we were able to take the heat race win but not the feature. The driver spun the tires on the start and made a mistake of running into puttzracer in the corner, causing the car to be extremely tight the rest of the race. That made it difficult to hold Donaldson off but congratulations to him, a good race for the win." -Kart Kart began the Feature race strong but Donaldson was able to take advantage of Kart's issues and took the lead and the win after leading the most laps. Kart finished second followed by puttzracer, BlackKnight and ltfireman1604. Spike finished eighth after retiring from the race early... "Unfortunately [in] the heat race as I was making a move for second place I found one of the track's holes which of course put me back in the field for the feature race. Feature race, I got caught up in someone else mess on the first lap which pretty much wrecked my car bad enough that it wouldn't turn coming out of turn exits so I just parked it after hitting the walls a few times." -Spike This was definitely not what Spike had in mind for the season finale. Pending reviews, Speedyman11 captures his first LCHRL Championship driving the #11 TMS Wolfpack entry with an incredible fifty-three point lead over BlackKnight. Speedy captured five heat wins and seven feature victories during the ten race championship season. KartRacer63 and Donaldson were the only other drivers to capture feature wins this season. Speedy also picked up the Paved, Dirt, Oval and Road Championships pending reviews a feat no other driver has reached in any of our fifteen seasons. Speedy's team, TMS Wolfpack, also managed to pick up their first LCHRL Team Championship along with his fellow team members Donaldson, ltfireman1604, puttzracer and Spike.
