Speedyman11 Captures 10th Cup Win of 2015 Saturday Night

Speedyman11 dominated the Rookiesrock Chicago Kickoff 120 Saturday night at Chicagoland Speedway. Speedy captured his tenth pole award of the season with a 30.490 lap time over Breeze. His strength continued at the drop of the green flag where Speedy led all 80 laps and powered to earn the fastest lap award. The win was Speedy's 10th of the 2015 season and he picked up both reset bonus points from the race.

Fordly56 fought hard to finish second, ending the night 19 second behind the leader. Fellow Team Penske driver BillyGood finished third in his #22, the last driver on the lead lap. Breeze and DusterLag finished fourth and fifth after a race long mid-pack battle among six drivers. ltfireman1604 finished sixth, dropping out of the top five on the front stretch of the final lap.

puttzracer post race... "It was a hard fought night for the Axalta Chevy team. I had a top 5 car for sure, and it was a close battle at the end between myself, ltfireman, Breeze and DusterLag. I had a shot in the last turn to get by Duster and lt when they got together in front of me and slid up the track, but I couldn't quite get turned down enough and ended up hitting Duster's bumper instead and came out 7th. Great racing at the end, though. It was a fun night overall."

DusterLag post race... "The #01 team showed up with a terrible car tonight. We really struggled with handling and things only got worse after the black flag from our second pit stop. We caught some breaks late and some how worked our way from last, through the field and into the top 5 on the final lap which is about as good as the night could have gone. Unfortunately I still really let down our entire NH Autosport team in the championship standings."

Following race 2 of reset segment 1 - Speedyman11 remains in the championship lead with a nineteen point lead over Fordly56. DusterLag sits third, twenty-four points behind Speedy with drivers from third through eleventh all within seven points of each other. After the next two races, the top six drivers in the championship standings will be reset and compete for the championship during segment 2.

TMS Wolfpack leads the team championship by an ever growing forty points over NH Autosport, up from thirty-one last week and twenty-three the previous week. Chevrolet picked up their nineteenth win of the year, the sixth consecutive win for the manufacturer, and continues to dominate the season and lead the manufacturer championship over Ford with three wins and Toyota with one win.
