Speedyman11 Prevails Victorious At The Blaxman Charlotte 140

Speedyman11 captured his sixth consecutive victory Saturday night during the Blaxman Charlotte 140 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Speedy picked up two crucial reset bonus points for the beginning of reset round 2 with his twelfth pole award of the year, the win was also Speedy's twelfth of the season. Speedy led 32 laps during the night, earning the most laps led award, but had two strong challengers throughout the night. Donaldson and putzracer put the pressure on, together leading 47 laps, but on the final lap it was Donaldson finishing just 0.113 seconds behind Speedy in second position. All three drivers drive for TMS Wolfpack.

puttzracer finished third with this to say post-race... "Great night for myself and my TMS Wolfpack teammates, qualified and finished top 3. Looks like I am solidly in the next round of the championship hunt. I benefited from Duster running out of gas out of the last turn before I ran out on the front stretch, I knew that last run would be dicey but I managed to save just a little more fuel in the draft at the end to pick up my best finish of the season."

DusterLag ran out of fuel on the final lap but held on to finish fourth... "Our #01 Daily Tech News Show Ford team wasn't sure how our night would go after qualifying at the rear of the field but we has a reliable car. I really let the team down with our qualifying effort and after working our way to the front of the field I was caught speeding on pit road entry setting us back again. In the end we finished fourth even after running of gas in the final turn. Looks like I'll be carrying the torch for NH Autosport as the only car in the championship chase still standings, lots of pressure there."

Of note, Fordly56 finished fifth as the first car one lap down while BlackKnight earned the fastest lap award with a 29.467 second lap despite a sixth place finish. Rumors were heard in the garage area post-race about pit road procedure and potential penalties that may be levied this week against multiple drivers, including the race's winner Speedyman11 who has yet to receive a penalty this season. League Officials commented that race reviews will be completed before the next race and that anything heard or discussed before then is unofficial and speculation only.

Round 1 is complete and round 2 begins next weekend. The field of twelve has been cut in half to six. Following New Hampshire Speedyman11 leads by six points after capturing all 3 poles and 3 wins during segment 1 earning the only six bonus points available. Fordly56, BillyGood, puttzracer, DusterLag and Donaldson also move on to round 2 and will begin the round with 2000 points.

TMS Wolfpack continues to lead the team championship by fifty points over NH Autosport, up from forty-five last week. Chevrolet picked up their twenty-first win of the year and eighteenth consecutive win for the manufacturer. Chevrolet continues to dominate the season in wins over Ford who has three wins and Toyota with one win. Chevrolet has captured the 2015 Manufacturer Championship as there are not enough races for any other manufacturer to catch up.
