DusterLag Starts 11th, Finishes 2nd to Speedyman11 Who Captures Second Consecutive T-Bone Victory

During open qualifying Saturday night for the 2016 ARL T-Bone National Series Las Vegas 70, Rookiesrock and Speedyman11 battled for the pole position swapping the fastest lap several times. At the end of qualifying Rookiesrock captured the pole position with a 32.871 second lap. At the drop of the green flag Speedyman11 in the #11 TMS Wolfpack Chevrolet jumped to an early lead with Rookiesrock not too far behind. On lap 5 puttzracer bounced off the wall and collected DusterLag, Redimuss and BlackKnight - there was plenty of sheet metal damage but everyone continued on racing. Speedy maintains lead after lap 11 stops but JRich ran out of fuel and lost several laps as he sputtered to his pit box. Following pit stops on lap 40 Speedyman11's lead had grown so large he was able to push fellow TMS Wolfpack driver ltfireman1604 into the pits after he ran out of fuel on the back-stretch. Speedy managed to hold a 4 second lead over DusterLag with just four laps remaining after providing the support. Speedyman11 captured his second consecutive victory and third career T-Bone National victory, winning with a 4 second margin over second. DusterLag struggled to find speed all night, including qualifying in eleventh position, but through extreme pit strategy and a black flag for Rookiesrock, DusterLag worked his way through the field to second place in the closing laps. Duster held off a charging Rookiesrock in the closing laps to finish second with Rookie just 1.5 second back. Rookiesrock picked up the fastest lap award with a 32.888 second lap. DusterLag earned the hard charger award after picking up nine positions. Speedyman11 led 39 of the 46 laps, taking the most laps led award. ltfireman1604 did not have enough time to recover after running out of fuel and as a result received the headache award.
