Speedyman11 captured his 7th pole award of 2016 Saturday night in the ARL Patch Cup Series with a 46.172 second lap. Rookiesrock earned the second qualifying position with a 46.173 lap time. Unfortunately for the two front row starters, the night was not on their side.
Tension was high as drivers exited turn 4 for the final time at Talladega, as drivers made their way to the checkered flag cars began bouncing off each other and spinning, including leaders Donaldson, Rookiesrock and Speedyman11. In the end Fordly56 drove through the carnage and captured his third career Patch Cup victory and first of 2016 with BlackKnight in tow. The #2 Penske Racing Ford of Fordly56 also earned the hard charger award post-race. Donaldson held onto third after leading the most laps of the night with Redimuss and Rookiesrock finishing in the top five. Speedyman11 finished eighth on his roof, picking up the headache award. ltfireman1604 ran the fastest lap of the race, a 45.999 second lap, but finished in the last position after contact on the final lap.
Race 10 of the 2016 season will be at Kansas Speedway for the Kansas 130 on April 30th beginning at 10:30pm ET, 2:30 UTC.
