HeatFinder Report for June & July 2016

THANK YOU to our patrons who pledged their support to us during May, June & July! Thanks to your support, HeatFinder can continue to operate for the Heat Community! Current funding is strong and we're getting closer to our next goal! If we can get 84 community members to pledge just $1 each or 17 to pledge $5 each, we can begin providing trophy's to our league's champions.

Can you help us do this? heatfinder.net/pledge

We are looking for live stream commentators! Are you available on Saturday nights to live stream commentary on races? Contact DusterLag via support@heatfinder.net and let us know how excited you are!

HeatFinder has always been and continues to be funded through donations and operated by a staff of dedicated volunteers. We continue to face rising monthly and yearly expenses for our servers. With your support, as little $1 per month (that's about 3.5¢ a day) you can help us improve our service, increase and improve league racing and grow our 15 year old community! Please consider making a pledge to HeatFinder... Your pledge of just $1 DOES make a difference!

A decision has been made to shutter the doors to OWAction. OWAction has focused on open wheel racing mods across all three of its series (IndyCar, IndyLights and Grand Prix). Unfortunately poor driver turnout, community interest and a lack of finding Officials to operate and a director for each of the three series has made this decision for us. Should stronger interest emerge in the coming years, the league will be re-launched. Until then OWAction race and season archives can be found on the main HeatFinder website.

After just half a year of TourSport standing alone as a league focused on road racing, a decision was made to make significant structure changes to it. TourSport was formed from a split with ARL at the same time the ARL was re-branded at the beginning of 2016. The Sports and Touring series', re-branded the Smoke Sports and Lucky Touring series' were moved from the ARL to TourSport. A new series, the Tazmaniac Elite series, was also created and was supposed to be the anchor for TourSport.

Unfortunately interest was low in the new league and managing a fourth league for our small staff was proving difficult. In June the decision was made to make changes. The Smoke Sports Series has returned to the ARL and will continue racing the same schedule and rules as it had been when it was part of TourSport and will continue to operate under the direction of Series Director Grumpy. The remains of TourSport, including the Tazmanaic Elite and Lucky Touring series' have been acquired by puttzracer and will be relaunched as its own league independent of HeatFinder and the HeatFinder Leagues Administration.

The LCHRL (Legend Car Heat Racing League) will also now be operated by the ARL as the LCHRL Series. This change means little for the drivers racing in the series, but helps ARL and HeatFinder Staff consolidate management of yet another league into just one.

As part of all these changes the ARL, as the sole existing league operated by HeatFinder, will become slightly more independent. HeatFinder Leagues will now simply be known as the ARL. HeatFinder League Officials are now ARL Officials. ARL will still be operating as a division of HeatFinder with much of the same staff but is now just one independent league instead of one league of four operated by the parent HeatFinder Leagues group.

It's been a very busy few months at HeatFinder, here are some things that happened with your support during the months of May, June & July...

We are looking for community members to join the HeatFinder team as Writers, Editors, League Officials, Series Directors and League Moderators, are you interested in any of these roles? Contact DusterLag via support@heatfinder.net and let us know how you can contribute.

We are asking for your support through pledges, we have several goals setup on our Patreon page that begin with funding our monthly expenses. We are collecting pledges through a great service called Patreon at patreon.com. With Patreon you control how and when your pledge is made, you can adjust your pledge or remove your pledge at any time. Patreon is a crowdfunding company founded in 2013 in San Fransisco by Jack Conte from Pomplamoose of YouTube fame and is often used by Podcasters, Musicians and Artists to support their creations. Think of it like an ongoing Kickstarter but instead of funding a single project with a single goal and single payout you are pledging an ongoing amount per month (as little as $1). This pledge can be adjusted or removed at any time. If you want to make a one time donation simply pledge for a month and remove your pledge after your account has been charged for that month a few days after the beginning of the month. Making your pledge is quick, simple and requires little information, you can even pledge anonymously or via your existing PayPal account on the Patreon site!

Please consider pledging as little as $1 a month here, this is our operating budget... heatfinder.net/pledge

You can also donate to us via PayPal, this is exclusively for capital growth or covering operating budget shortfalls... heatfinder.net/donate
