The LCHRL unveiled a new race format Friday night where drivers compete in a short Heat race which sets the starting grid for the Feature with great success. DusterLag pulled off the Heat victory after starting second from a random draw in a tight battle for the pole position at North Carolina. The points are in the Feature race where Donaldson held off Grumpy by 0.125 seconds after a competitive race which saw countless lead changes between the four drivers to lead a lap. DusterLag pulled the fastest lap, Donaldson led the most laps and the hard charger award after picking up three positions. The headache award went to GTSVip9 who lost five positions and finished seventh after contact with the wall. Donaldson begins the season with a three point lead over DusterLag and a four point lead over Grumpy in the driver, paved and oval standings while NH Autosport starts with a six point lead in the team standings over Twisted Metal.
