Championship Changes for 2014 Cup Series Drivers

The Arcade Racing League and HeatFinder Leagues Administration announced Thursday that the 2014 Driver Championship will have changes this year that include a second reset. This year drivers will have twenty "regular season" races to get themselves into the top 10 overall drivers standings, four more races than in 2013. After race twenty, which takes place at Richmond, the top 10 drivers will have their points reset to 1000 plus an additional bonus point to drivers for each win and pole they captured during the first twenty races. For the next four races (which include Chicagoland, Dover, Kansas and Talladega) drivers will be racing into the top 5 overall driver standings as after race twenty-four (at Talladega) the top 5 drivers will again have their points reset - this time to 2000 plus an additional bonus point to drivers for each win and pole they capture during the four races. Finally the top 5 drivers will have the next four races (which include Martinsville, Charlotte, Phoenix and Miami) to battle it out for the 2014 Arcade Racing League Cup Series Championship! You got all that right?
