Donaldson Nearly Laps Field & Captures Daytona 400: 2 Hour Endurance Victory


Donaldson nearly lapped the entire field Saturday night en-route to capturing the Daytona 400: 2 Hour Endurance Special Event victory. Donaldson captured the pole with a 47.059 fast lap followed closely by Grumpy qualifying second. The field quickly line up single-file allowing Donaldson to go unchallenged throughout the first segment, the position also kept his car clean and undamaged as the remainder of the field suffered severe damage from constant bumping and quick speed changes. With the field largely separated Donaldson was able to hook up with a lap car group and allowed him to drive to an incredible lead over the remainder of his challengers. DusterLag and flash2042 managed to hold onto the lead lap and finish second and third.

Seven drivers survived the two hour event including ltfireman1604 and BlackKnight in the top five. Breeze and Fordly56 also completed the race however several laps down. Patch suffered a disconnect and finished eighth, Spike retired in ninth after suffering damage while trying to draft with another driver. Grumpy also suffered a disconnect after his machine went to sleep in tenth while cruisectrl retired in eleventh after a lap 4 wreck.
