Patch Wraps Up Regular Season with Two Bonus Points after Dominating Richmond


Patch picked up two more championship reset bonus points Saturday night as he dominated the Richmond Reset Countdown 90, picking up the victory and pole award! Race twenty of the 2014 season marked the end of the regular season for championship chasers, ten drivers move forward in a battle to make the top five cutoff over the next four races. DusterLag used pit strategy throughout the time to keep himself on the lead lap and finish second despite his relatively slow car. ltfireman1604 make a good run and finished third. Rookie puttzracer making his first career league start was fast throughout the night and held on to make an impressive fourth place finish. Grumpy also fought an ill-handling car but utilized pit strategy to finish fifth. The second of the rookie drivers making their first career league start, BillyGood, had a fast car and picked up the Fastest Lap Award impressing many other drivers. Despite having a fast car and running fairly well throughout the night BillyGood finished seventh after struggling with strategy.

The championship picture shifts significantly tonight after the final regular season event. Drivers who made the top ten had their points reset to 1000 plus 1 bonus point for each win and pole they picked up during the last twenty races. Donaldson begins the reset season as the leader with 1016 points, Patch sits second with 1007, GTSVip9 is third with 1006 and DusterLag begins with 1004 in fourth. Two drivers start with 1002 points - BlackKnight and cruisectrl. Grumpy and ltfireman1604 begin with 1001 points while Breeze and Spike begin with 1000 after earning no bonus points. These drivers have and up hill battle to make the top five cutoff. Over the next four events drivers must race their way into the top five to make the second reset - drivers who are in the top five will be chasing the championship over the next four races.

NH Autosport leads the team championship by seventy-five points over Twisted Metal while Chevrolet picks up their thirteenth win of the season and leads the manufacturer championship over Ford with seven wins.
