Donaldson Captures Cup Series Reset Round 3 Victory @ Kansas


TheMask Kansas 120 turnout to be a tight battle between DusterLag and Donaldson Saturday night with Donaldson prevailing. Donaldson captured the pole position award over DusterLag but it was DusterLag who led the opening laps after taking the lead from the high side. DusterLag continued to lead the most laps and capture the fastest lap award with significant pressure from Donaldson as the race continued. Ultimately Donaldson took the lead following the final round of pit stops and captured the reset round 3 race victory in his #5 Pepsi Max Chevrolet. Grumpy finished third while increasing the gap to sixth in the driver standings while ltfireman1604 finished fourth. BillyGood picked up five positions and the hard charger award and finished fifth after a great run at Kansas in his #22 Team Penske Ford.

Patch struggled throughout the night - finishing seventh, as a result DusterLag takes the driver championship lead by three points. No drivers are safe as we approach reset round 4 and the final race before the second reset takes place. The second reset will only allow five drivers to move on and compete for the driver championship title. Currently DusterLag, Patch, Donaldson, ltfireman1604 and Grumpy sit in the five reset positions. Breeze and BlacKnight have a good chance to race their way into the top five sitting just twelve and fourteen points outside.

NH Autosport leads the team championship by an ever increasing eighty-six points over Twisted Metal and Chevrolet leads the manufacturer championship with fifteen wins over Ford with eight.
