Goshen, IN – September 26, 2019… The Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), has officially released its 2019-20 Gold Crest Wing Supermodified Schedule, and although slightly refined from last year, the season still has a seven month schedule of 43 race dates in 17 different states and Canada. Of those dates, fifteen will use the NASCAR Heat sim racing platform, and two will feature the pavement modifieds of the ARL Super Heat Modified Tour.

See all of the SUPRS NASCAR Heat Dates

Five new venues have been added to the schedule, and SUPRS will visit Wisconsin for the first time in their 16 year history. With the addition of the new tracks, several, including Rocky Mountain Raceways, and the long-standing Caraway Speedway have been dropped from the schedule.

Three of the new tracks added to the 2019-20 schedule are NASCAR Heat based including Orange County Speedway, Paved Quarter Speedway, and Berlin Raceway.

Season Starts October 1 with NASCAR Heat Race

The season kicks off with a NASCAR Heat show on October 1 and the 16th Annual Harvest of Speed at LaPorte Speedway. Kicking off the season at LaPorte is a tradition that dates back to the very first SUPRS sanctioned show in October of 2004. At that time SUPRS used the “PSTM” modification for NASCAR Heat by Mike Jackson. Today, the sanction uses it’s own mod but keeps the tradition of alive at LaPorte as a nod to their own rich history of NASCAR Heat format racing.

This race is the first of the 15 NASCAR Heat dates, and kicks off the SUPRS/HeatFinder.net Supermodified Challenge. The SUPRS/HeatFinder.net Supermodified Challenge is free and open to the public as long as drivers have registered on SUPRS website and joinedSUPRS at the Silver Crest level.

Modifieds Added to SUPRS Schedule

After a successful co-sanctioned event in August for the SUPRS Mod 200 that was won by SpeedyMan11, SUPRS has added two ARL Super Heat Modified Tour dates to the schedule for 2019-20. These shows are open to the public without registration at SUPRS to anyone that has the tracks and modification by The Mod Squad.

The first date is a double-header with the supermodifieds at New Hampshire International Speedway. The Presidents Day Special on February 18, 2020 will see the supermodifieds run a 25 lap event, while the modifieds will compete will run 75 on the original NHIS that came with the NASCAR Heat game.

The second date falls at the end of the season as part of SUPRS 16th Annual Summit Classic 125 Week. The Ground Pounder Modified 75 is scheduled as the first race of the week on April 27, 2020 at SUPRS Madera Speedway for NASCAR Heat. It marks the first time that the "mighty mods" have been a part of the season ending Summit Classic Week for over five years.

SUPRS races most Tuesday evenings with Hot Laps for each event starting between 8:00 and 8:15 pm ET, Drivers Meeting at 8:30 pm, Time Trials at 8:45 pm and Racing at 9:05 pm. For bigger shows including swings we often start earlier. Our shows generally take a little over an hour from start to finish. Our NASCAR Heat events utilize: 1x Wear/ No Caution Flags / Normal Mode.

Notes on Line Ups

Most of our shows use The Points Won Handicap System, whereby a driver accumulates points for his handicap. Simply speaking, the higher a driver finishes in Time Trials, Heat and/or Feature, the more points he will receive and the higher his handicap will be.

On most nights the Elite 8 (top eight time trial positions), or Fast Four (top four time trial positions), will not have to run a Heat Race. They are locked into top eight or top four positions of feature and are then inverted by Pill Draw, Fast Car Dash finish, Individual Pill Draw, or Points Won Handicap.

Drivers with less than four(4) events with SUPRS will start at the tail of each race regardless of handicap points. They will receive their handicap beginning with their fourth SUPRS race.

Rarely, will you ever see a straight up start from time trials in the heats or the feature with SUPRS.

Important Info on SUPRS Files

Most of the NASCAR Heat tracks we run are available from The Mod Squad. Once a driver has joined, we have an updated track pack for each season that is available for download via our website. All rFactor files are available through SUPRS Sync.

Where to Sign Up for Series:
So that we may provide a better racing environment at SUPRS you must first Register at our website, then fill out the SUPRS Membership Join Form</link> If choosing to run just NASCAR Heat and not for a season championship, drivers should join SUPRS at the Silver Crest level.

Drivers wishing to compete in both NASCAR Heat and rFactor events for the SUPRS Gold Crest Championship plus awards and prizes, are required to join at the Gold Crest level by making a donation to the Dion Parish Memorial Benevolent Fund for Supermodifieds. Gold Crest Memberships are good for one calendar year from date of donation.

Coming up this week on the SUPRS schedule- the "Wolverine 50" for the winged supermodifieds at Berlin Raceway. It's our first visit to the famed Berlin Raceway in our 16 year history and this track that helped start the supermodified division should produce some very good racing for us. We hope you can join us at 8pm ET for practice. Racing is slated to start at 9:05pm ET with the Fast Car Dash for the top four qualifiers.

Tonight SUPRS celebrates 16 continuous years of Supermodified Sim Racing for the Right Reasons and we hope you can join us!

In a nod to the beginning of SUPRS in 2004, SUPRS will use the NASCAR Heat sim racing game and race their first ground-up, “in-house” built modification for the platform, named “NHSM” which stands for NASCAR Heat SuperModified. This modification was built for SUPRS by Kevin Marine of Shaker Designs with help from real supermodified car builders and drivers and was released in February of 2005. In keeping with respecting the roots of SUPRS, Paved Quarter Speedway, built by former SUPRS developer Doug “Flash” Forgue, will be used for the first time in SUPRS 16 year history.

The race is part of the SUPRS/HeatFinder.net Supermodified Challenge.

Fans and friends can hang out while enjoying SUPRS LIVE! For races all five races of the SUPRS 16th Anniversary Special, Featuring Live Timing, Scoring, Streaming Video, and now Discord Chat. it’s the perfect place to cheer on your favorite SUPRS racer. Visit www.SUPRS.net/site/live.

The first race of the 2019-20 Empire State Super Series Regional Tour is even more fun on Blind Date Night!

The drivers won’t know until after practice, which of three possible tracks they are racing their winged NASCAR Heat supermodifieds on!

Time trials, two heats, and a 50 lap feature should give everyone plenty of time to make a good first impression.

All of our Empire State Super Series Regional Tour races use a similar system, but uses just ESS finishes to determine Points Won Handicap.

SUPRS 15th Annual Keystone Nationals featuring The Randy Witkum Memorial 125 is a three night trek through Pennsylvania, using NASCAR Heat and rFactor.

These races vary in length from 25 laps, to 125 and are held at a variety of tracks that includes the "Square Circle of RT 93 Raceway, the challenging one-mile dog-leg oval of Nazareth, and culminates at the prestigious Randy Witkum Memorial 125 held at the 1/2 mile of Jennerstown Speedway. The racers will try to rack up as many points at they can each night as they race for the Keystone Nationals Championship.

Don't miss this three-night swing through Pennsylvania, see it all with SUPRS LIVE! @ 9.

Races 1 and 3 are part of the SUPRS/HeatFinder.net Supermodified Open Challenge where any driver is eligible to run as long as they have the corect files and registered to race at SUPRS and HeatFinder.net.

Night one of the 15th Annual Keystone Nationals kicks off at "The Square Circle" - RT 93 Raceway in Slusser, PA. This NASCAR Heat track always keeps the racers guessing and sometimes even makes it hard for them to remember what corner they are in!

Night two of the 15th Annual Keystone Nationals rolls into Nazareth Speedway for a 25 lap r Factor main event on the tricky one-mile dogleg track that has varying elevations.

Then on Night three of the Keystone Nationals, SUPRS honors the memory of the late Randy Witkum with the running of this NASCAR Heat race. Randy was lost to us in a heat race for the ISMA show at Jennerstown Speedway August 14, 1999 at 25 years old.

The Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), has taken up residence in California for the final three races of the 2020 season, and the first of those three is the 16th Annual Billy Vukovich III Classic 100 presented by Supermodified Scorecard, a race that honors the legacy and contribution to supermodified racing by Fresno’s Billy Vukovich III, April 14 at Mesa Marin Raceway.

Billy Vukovich III was a three-time starter of Indianapolis 500 Mile Race, the first third generation racer to compete in the race and like his father and grandfather before him was named the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race Rookie of the Year.

During his supermodified tenure, Vukovich III claimed the 1986-87 USAC Supermodified Championship. In 1987 alone he won an incredible 12 of 17 races with a string of seven consecutive victories. He was also a two-time winner of the prestigious Copper World Classic at Phoenix International Raceway and was a threat to win when he competed at Madera Speedway in the Vernon Reitz “Spirit of Madera” machine.

Tragically, Vukovich III was killed while practicing for a CRA pavement sprint car event on November 25, 1990 at Mesa Marin Raceway. Billy was only 27 years old.

We hope you can join us for this very special supermodified sim racing event as we remember Billy.

Racing action for SUPRS 16th Annual Summit Classic Week gets rolling tonight, and for the first time since 2013, the supermodifieds, and the mighty modifieds, will share a double dip of excitement as part of this event. Join us for the Cherry Breaker 63, a special race for drivers that have never won a SUPRS winged supermodified feature to kick off the night, then stick around for The Mod Squad Ground Pounder Modified 75 presented by HeatFinder.net. It's the first time in SUPRS history that the modifieds have raced at Madera so join us for some "Monday Madera Madness" using NASCAR Heat!

Enjoy Live Stream

Fans will be able to enjoy live streaming video of both divisions on the SUPRS Broadcasting Network and can tune in to SUPRS LIVE! beginning at 8pm ET for all the action.

Event Details

The supermodified portion of the event will be contested with SUPRS NASCAR Heat wing supermodifieds, (SUPRS W v6). The supermods are the under-card and get their night started at 7:15pm with Hot Laps. Drivers Meeting is at 7:30pm, Time Trials lead up to the the 63 lap feature scheduled to the take the green flag at 8:10pm. The supermodifieds will run in normal mode, no cautions, and zero wear factor.

Following a quick break to switch race and voice servers, the TMS Super HEAT Modified Tour hits the track at 8:45pm for a quick five minute Hot Lap session. This is followed by Time Trials at 8:55pm, and the SUPRS TMS Ground Pounder Modified 75 presented by HeatFinder feature at 9:05pm. With 3x wear, Fixed Setups, and cautions, the modifieds should prove to be a race of strategy for all competitors. We expect a large fall off of the modified tires by the end of the race.

Both races will be contested on the SUPRS Madera Speedway for NASCAR Heat

CHERRY BREAKER 63 DETAILS

-Open to all SUPRS Silver Crest and Gold Crest Members that have never won a SUPRS winged supermodified feature event.
-A SUPRS non-point event.
-All drivers MUST be present upon commencement of time trials with headphones to be eligible to race. Mic is optional but preferred.
-SUPRS, TMS, and HeatFinder Rulebooks shall govern all race procedures incl. but not limited to formats, procedures, race length, conduct, etc.

Make sure you have your name listed correctly in the race server, i.e. 99JohnDoe or 99 JohnDoe or 99JDoe are all acceptable. Screen names or nicknames are not allowed for broadcast and scoring reasons.
You will be assigned a car if you don’t already have one in game, (most of you won’t). Please be sure that you use that car.
We do not allow chatter or typing in the server any time that there are cars on the track.
Time trials are conducted one car at a time and drivers are called out to the track by an official. The race director will call the flag for each lap. Generally, you will be green the first time by, but depending on time and car count, you may get an extra warm-up lap. We’ll let you know in the drivers meeting. Please keep your foot on the brake while in the pit area. You can cycle through each driver to watch your fellow competitors time trial, just make sure you are moving up the line as each car goes out. When you are done with your time trial run the race director will audibly call “Checkers” and you should proceed to your pit stall, again, we suggest keeping your foot on the brake or at least taking the car out of gear.
All line ups will be in the middle of the backstretch for all events of the contest. Drivers should roll out on the “drop” with the inside line staying low and the outside line staying high, keeping the middle of the track open at all times. The VID-Car will be called through and once it is in place, the race director will call each row to the backstretch. Keep your foot on the brake while in the line-up. Once the field is set, the race director will call “Take Them Away” to the pole-sitter. At that time the front row should roll out slowly. Pace speed will be announced in the drivers meeting.
The will be one restart if the race director determines that the initial start was botched. Front row starters must be side by side. Drivers on the front row may be sent to the back if they can’t make a clean start. Go line for this track is at the end of the inside pit wall out of Turn 4.
The server will not be reset for drops unless it is the Race Director, Announcer, or Vid-Car
