If anyone is available this week so i can test this out again please let me know (probably between 7:00 - 11:00 pm would work.. (duster did find an error yesterday, you have to have the compatibility changed in the mod folder itself). I had it only changed in just the general folder is why i couldn't hear while in the game, if anyone else has this issue.

hey Donaldson,
sure, I can be on there for you to test. just post a reply here, and I'll know your ready. I hope what dusterlag found works for you. I didn't do anything more than to just install team speak, and it seems to be working for me.
any how just let me know and i'll log into the ARL team speak server.

If you use Essentials to install Heat the option is configured on, if you use the old CD it is configured off.

Do you get this error if you're not running TeamSpeak?

The log says your still missing the pg.res file which would be independent and have nothing to do with TeamSpeak.

Game only crashs when im trying to run teamspeak in the background. Works fine if its just the game only running with no issues.

Have you tried closing out you're anti virus program (and all of its services)? The program your using is unnecessarily large and regardless it will do you nothing while you're racing.

Give that a try and let me know what happens.

On a side note you're error log makes no since considering it mentions a data folder which I removed completely. Try downloading and installing Essentials over you're current installation (it won't break anything but could fix some issues.)

Yes i closed it out on the task manager and it wasnt running. Yeah i deleted the data folder out so i have no idea why its showing that, i even ran a search for data folder and nothing comes up..ill try the essentials thing.

On a side note anytime i have anything else running in the background the game will lag horribly. (Example, having heatfinder homepage up, yahoo, music, voice chat.. I have to have everything closed out and nothing but the game going to work good. Maybe my pc is just outdated? Ive had it for 8 years, that may be the problem why i cant multitask..if i have just the game running it takes like 5 seconds to load, if i have sonething else open in the background its anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute to load up.

Over the 8 years have you ever re-installed Windows and started over?

Depends, what are your PC's specs?
I'm running heat on a 7yr old pc just fine even with having google chome open in the background sometimes.

i guess its not the pc because sports car mod worked fine just now.. For cup can i just sign onto team speak and hear the pitting guidelines (if there are any, ovals there shouldn't be..pit in anyway you want and exit on backstretch) and then log off it before the race starts?

Very odd that it would work that way, have you turned off High Detail Cars?

Also don't forget that you do not need to use TeamSpeak on the same device your racing on, they have iOS and Android apps for phones and tablets or you can use it on another computer if you happen to have one such as a laptop.

is the iphone app free if so ill try that. Another question is if it is free does it make you use up any data while running it as i have a data limit each month and i'd imagine that would use up a lot running it for an hour.

based on my first experience with it, is it ok to mute you guys? I really need to have full concentration when i race, especially at a road course. (i guess you would have no way of telling anyway)., id rather just turn the game sound back up and not hear anyone while racing. someone said something about you guys are gonna run out of fuel while i was in a turn and got distracted and i botched it and got a time penalty..i got distracted another time by another comment but didn't result in off roading..would rather just concentrate on racing and not hear anyone else.

I though it was, looks like it's $4.99 though, apparently they charge for the iOS app.

When you're at home you should* be on WiFi which would not count against your carrier's data.
* If for some reason your not, you may want to do that anyway regardless of this, best to use unlimited data when at home instead of the limited data from your carrier.

Feel free to mute us. We can see if we're muted or not, but that is fine - just be sure to not mute us until you're sure you've got everything you'll need. Should a pace lap be needed direction will only be supplied via voice. When we start working on cautions direction will only be issued via voice. Keep in mind that you can be penalized for disregarding directions.

We try to keep voice chat limited during races and for the most part it is quiet except for a couple fuel comments (I'll make sure to check if I had you included in my team chat and take you out it you want, I talk team strategy with Grumpy throughout the race that the rest of the group can not hear).

You'll just need to weigh your options and decide if you want to take the risk.

thanks for the info..yeah ill just turn the game sound back up so i cant hear anyone, i don't ever imagine a situation where i cant visually see what to do unless cautions are involved. Sorry but id rather just have full concentration on what i'm doing on track. even when my wife is talking to me its a huge distraction.

i'll test out the essentials thing and if that wont work, i'll try the laptop idea. although i don't think that will work either because anytime my wife does anything on her laptop while i'm racing its an automatic d/c or big time lag. but i will test these out.

also ill try testing out lchrl again and owa, cts, and nationwide mods to see if those are working or not.. maybe its just something with the cup mod for whatever reason?
