Spike Captures 2014 Sports Car Series Championship; SpeedSims Racing Takes Team Championship


Spike officially captured the 2014 Sports Car Series Championship Saturday evening after clearing all reviews. This is Spike's first ARL series championship title. Throughout the season Spike captured five race wins and three pole position awards ending the season with a six point lead over Two-Time Series Champion Patch (2012 and 2013). SpeedSims Racing with drivers cruisectrl and Spike captured the Team Championship with six race wins and three pole position awards. Cadillac captured their first ARL Manufacturer Championship title pulling just ahead of Chevrolet with five race wins and three pole position awards verses Chevrolet's four race wins and eight pole position awards. Spike carried the Cadillac brand to their title while Chevrolet was carried by four drivers.

Drivers ran twelve points races across twelve nights throughout the season including events at the Daytona Road Course and LeMans. Four drivers - Spike, Patch, Donaldson and cruisectrl captured race wins throughout the season with intense battles and finishes. The Cup Series continues with plans being created for the National and Touring Car Series to be run this winter, all league drivers are encouraged to participate.
