On August 2, the drivers of the Busch Series came to Watkins Glen for the opening round of the 2019 season. As expected, the resulting electricity echoed across the community. Amid a frenzy of competitors, Speedyman11 took the checkered flag using smart strategy, leading 33 of 36 laps and edging lepage71 by 1.8 seconds. En route to second-place, lepage71 led three laps of his own to put up a thrilling challenge for the title. In an impressive effort, Bandit took the final step on the podium, reaching the line 1.8 seconds behind Speedyman11. Not to be forgotten, Grumpy and Jes Rathbun were no slowpokes either, finishing fourth and fifth to round out the top-five. The victory sets lepage71 just 1 point behind in the initial standings. In its next event, the Busch Series heads to Michigan in what promises to be another shootout.
