Speedyman11 Earns 4th Consecutive Victory, 40th Patch Cup Career Victory, At The Golden Gate 160

Speedyman11 picked up his fourth consecutive victory of the season Saturday night during the Golden Gate 160 at Auto Club Speedway. The win was Speedy's 40th Patch Cup career win, adding to his total 156 Career ARL wins, the most all time, Donaldson has 27 less wins in the ARL at 129 total. During restarts Speedy would quickly pull away from the field if he was leading and, if he was further back in the pack, he would quickly move his way back to the front. Speedy led the most laps of the night and was leading at the end of segment 1. Donaldson earned the fastest lap award with a 37.972 second lap and finished second. ltfireman1604 finished third after starting eighth, taking home the hard charger award. Fordly56 finished fourth during his first start of 2017 in the Patch Cup series. Rookiesrock started on the pole, capturing it with a 37.915 second lap, and finished fifth. Speedyman11 increases his driver championship lead from 21 points to 25 over ltfireman1604 who remains in second. BlackKnight remains in third, 45 points from the leader. At the bottom of the standings, lepage71 pushes Apod, who did not race this weekend, out of the top 12 cut off with 18 races remaining. TMS Wolfpack increases their point lead in the team championship to 25 points over affiliate TMS Wolfpack II while NH Autosport: Team Black remains in third, 45 points behind the leader. Chevrolet continues to lead the manufacturer championship with five wins in 2017, while Ford and Toyota have yet to earn a victory.
