Spike Prevails at Birmingham IRL; Takes Championship Lead

Spike prevailed at Birmingham IRL Sunday afternoon to take home the trophy over a strong Patch. This race was far from mistake-free as every driver took trips through the grass or spun their car at least once. Patch was the fastest driver on track capturing the pole position award, fastest lap award and leading the most laps, unfortunately for him it only added up to a second place finish. DusterLag, oldns_low and Grumpy wrap up the top five. Spike takes the driver championship lead with his victory by two points over DusterLag, who falls to second, and three points over Patch who falls to third. As expected with his win at the first road event of the season, Spike leads the road championship by four points over Patch. Twisted Metal maintains the team championship lead over Cyber Racing who looses ground. View complete results here.
